Every year, the national AmeriCorps organization dedicates a week in March to celebrate AmeriCorps members across the country and the valuable contributions they make to their communities. This year’s AmeriCorps week for Pennsylvania is March 14-20. PMSC plans to share in this celebration through attending the virtual state wide celebration with our AmeriCorps members on Monday, March 15, participating in an AmeriCorps Week social media campaign, and distributing PSA’s in the community.
We encourage all of our members, host sites, alumni, and friends to join in the celebration with us! PMSC has created a great interactive social media campaign to start the fun. Even if you are not on social media, the tools provided below can help you share all about AmeriCorps.
For anyone on social media, we encourage you to use our weekly hashtags to get in on the fun. Create your own content, share PMSC’s posts, or all of the above! We can’t wait to see your posts.
You can use additional hashtags like #WeAreAmeriCorps #AmeriCorpsWeek #AmeriCorpsWorks #MadeInAmeriCorps #PMSC #CNCS #GetThingsDone and #NationalService. You could also share the “What is AmeriCorps” video for a quick and easy way to explain what AmeriCorps is all about! Or use the examples below to help get your creative juices flowing.
“AmeriCorps week is about celebrating the contributions made by those who have made the commitment to National Service. Join in the celebration with me! I am an AmeriCorps member/alum and I Get Things Done.”
“AmeriCorps members dedicate their time to serving the needs of the community. I ask you to celebrate AmeriCorps week with me as we recognize those who are making a difference.”
“This week, Americans around the nation are celebrating AmeriCorps members and the valuable contributions they are making to their communities. We would like to take this time to recognize and thank the AmeriCorps members currently serving and the alumni who came before. Thank you for the work you do.”

Brand new to AmeriCorp. Almost didn’t get approved by DC. They thought I had dual citizenship. Didn’t know that my birthplace (Johnstown PA) was in another country. Really happy to be aboard!
