PMSC AmeriCorps members and alumni: as part of your onboarding to serve as an AmeriCorps member, you completed a series of background clearances. Below, please find directions for accessing these records.
PA Child Abuse Clearance
Members and alumni may access your Department of Human Services Child Abuse History: https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS/Public/Home
Federal Criminal History Record
Members and alumni may access your Federal Criminal History Record (your fingerprint record) by contacting Appalachia IU08 Coordinator of Programs and Support Services, Karen Makin @ kmakin@iu08.org or 814-244-5835.
Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Record
Members and alumni will need to complete this clearance if it is required for a new employer or volunteer position as it is not accessible from PMSC AmeriCorps: https://epatch.pa.gov/home
Mandated Reporter & Professional Ethics Training Certificates
You also completed Mandated Reporter Training (“Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse”) as part of your onboarding process and you will have that Certificate of Completion in your email. If you are unable to access it through your email, you may contact training@pafsa.org to retrieve a copy.
Finally, you completed the Professional Ethics and the Educator Discipline Act Training You can access that Certificate in the Pennsylvania Dept. of Education Standards Aligned Systems (SAS) Portal here: https://pdesas.org/. Login and access the "PD Center" from the menu- then "My Past Courses" to "View Certificate" from your completed training.
