The
Presidential Award recognizes citizens answering the President’s
call to service. As a Certifying Organization, PMSC certifies
eligible AmeriCorps recipients, verifies service hours, and
distributes the award. AmeriCorps members may earn a minimum
level bronze award by providing 100 hours of service beyond
your 300, 900 or 1700-hour obligation. After completing your
contracted amount of hours, track your extra service hours on
a time log and identify these additional hours as presidential
award hours; or submit documentation of your time on letterhead
signed by an official of that agency if you’re volunteering
for an organization unrelated to your service site. You can
earn one award per year. To accrue hours beyond the 100-hour
bronze level, tell PMSC, so we do not order your award until
you have reached the desired level.
To
participate, set up a web-based profile in addition to your
paper documentation to track and certify your volunteer
hours.
1. Go to www.presidentialserviceawards.gov
2. Click “Track Your Hours.”
3. Create your record of service profile. Make sure you
check the yellow box to indicate that you are over the age
of 14.
4. Click “Create My Record Of Service”
5. Under “Profile” tab, use this code under
“record of service key”: CO-QFN-1534T
6. Use “My Service” tab to log in all service
hours.
Once
you have reached the desired award level, we will certify your
hours and send for your award. The PMSC places orders once or
twice a year, so there may be a time lapse between completing
your hours and receiving your award.
To promote volunteerism in our communities, we will also certify
up to two volunteers that you recruit to earn the award. These
volunteers should create their own profiles and supply a letter(s)
to PMSC from the organization where they served. Please notify
PMSC that these are volunteers you have recruited so we know
they are valid volunteers.
