Documentation is required to be eligible to serve with the Pennsylvania Mountain Service Corps/AmeriCorps. In addition to a birth certificate, social security card and picture ID, individuals selected to serve must also present criminal, child abuse and FBI clearances. PA Criminal Clearance

  • Required prior to starting Service
    $10.00 – Print Receipt for PMSC reimbursement
    Submit a New Record Check
    Enter all Required Information Fields
    Print and Submit to PMSC Certificate with Background Seal -or- Name, Date of Search, Control Number
    Retain copies for your records.

    FBI Clearance
  • Registration Required Prior to Starting Service
    Fingerprinting and Report required within two weeks of start date.
    Select Department of Education (PDE)
    Register Online
    Select Intermediate Unit under Reason for Request
    Enter Required Information
    Print 2 Transaction Receipts for Reimbursement and Fingerprinting
    Review Fingerprinting Site Locations and Hours (some sites require appointments)
    Bring registration and photo ID to site for fingerprinting scan
    Provide PAE Registration ID (alpha and numeric characters) to PMSC to obtain FBI Report
    A copy will be mailed to you

    Child Abuse Clearance
  • Required within 60 days of starting service
    $10.00 money order
    Complete paper Child Abuse Form
    Check “School” under “Purpose of Clearance”
    Use your name and address as Requester
    Obtain a money order for $10
    Retain original money order receipt for reimbursement

    Complete, sign & attach Clearance Consent Form
    Copy completed form for your records
    Submit form and payment to address indicated
    Clearance will be sent directly to PMSC
